I Needed a Mentor.
So I Built Something Better.
When I started out, I felt completely lost. I didn't know where to look for help, how to get real mentorship, or how to maneuver in complex tech and design spaces. There was no clear roadmap — just an overwhelming noise of polished portfolios and silent, isolating struggles.
As I navigated the industry, I saw a challenge every founder and business leader encounters: Africa is overflowing with extraordinary creative talent, but designers were isolated in silos without structured portfolio teardowns, industry standards, or practical career preparation.
I realized that solving this wasn't just about hosting chats — it was about building real support. By equipping designers — no matter their background or field — with hands-on portfolio reviews and real-world tools, we could help everyone grow faster.
What began as one person seeking direction grew into KDK: a thriving ecosystem connecting over 1,500 designers with hosted events, masterclasses, and direct client partnerships. We proved that community is not just a support network — it is a high-value engine for talent acceleration.
Today, KDK stands as proof that when you invest in equipping designers, you elevate the entire creative economy — giving founders access to top-tier talent and bringing creators closer to global success.
